September 8, 2012 - Pasadena, CA. There were plenty of fireworks in this highly-anticipated matchup between these two storied programs. The Huskers start slowly but end the first quarter with a 14-7 lead after an electric, 92-yard touchdown run by Taylor Martinez. NU battles momentum swings and their own mistakes but has a chance late in to the game until Martinez is sacked in the end-zone for a safety with 8:44 left to play. Ameer Abdullah fills in nicely for the injured Rex Burkhead gaining 119 yards on the ground but the Bruins prove to be too much for the Blackshirts with a final score of 36-30.
